Reports & Analysis
A report is a long-form analysis of a subject, written as a sequence of chapters and meant to be read in order. Reports cover the theory: the physics, the mathematics, and the reasoning, independent of any particular thing that was built from it.
Where a report has a practical counterpart, the two link to one another — the report chapter derives the constraints, and the project documentation shows them resolved into real components.
Piano Acoustics & Tuning
The complete signal chain involved in tuning a piano electronically, from the physics of a vibrating string through to inharmonicity analysis. Covers string wave behaviour and acoustics, equal temperament, acousto-electric conversion, digitization, and the digital signal processing needed to extract a fundamental and its partials.
Seven chapters. Assumes comfort with calculus and complex numbers; the introduction lists the mathematical prerequisites in full.
